ADA Compliance for Tablet Kiosks
ADA Compliance for Tablet Kiosks
We believe that everyone should be able to use our kiosks and to back that up, all of our designs meet the height and reach standards set in the Americans with Disabilities Act. The ADA was revised in 2012 to help create buildings and facilities that are accessible to more than 54 million Americans with disabilities.
The ADA requires that places of public accommodation and commercial facilities be accessible. These include a wide range of entities, such as:
- Office buildings
- Restaurants
- Hotels
- Theaters
- Doctors' offices
- Pharmacies
- Retail stores
- Museums
- Libraries
- Parks
- Schools
- Daycare centers
If you are considering a new kiosk deployment or are making updates to an existing project, these requirements may apply. Ignoring them can put your business or organization at risk for lawsuits that can result in a court order, monetary damages and/or civil penalties.
